Our teachers and students at SWIS are very fortunate to have access to an array of the most up to date online resources such as Seesaw, Flipgrid, Mathletics, Raz Kidz, Nearpod, Padlet, Podomatic and many more.
Seesaw is the main tool used in all classes from Pre-K to Grade 5. Last year alone we had 99.8% of our parents signed up and actively using Seesaw.
It is an excellent ways for teachers and parents to showcase first hand the excellent work they are doing at SWIS directly to parents at home with a quick click of a button.
Flipgrid is an excellent video sharing tool that we have recently adapted at SWIS. It is proving very popular and all teachers throughout the school have an account.
Nearpod is an interactive presentation and assessment tool that can be used to amazing effect in the classroom. The app’s concept is simple. A teacher can create presentations that can contain Quiz’s, Polls, Videos, Images, Drawing-Boards, Web Content and so on. The children can access a teacher’s presentation through a code. It is up to the teacher to then move the class through the presentation and let them interact with the media as they go. The partnership between Nearpod and Common Sense Media mean that the amazing Digital Citizenship Curriculum developed by CS Media is available to all teachers at SWIS through their Nearpod Teacher account.
"Common Sense Education and Nearpod have partnered to offer educators the chance to harness the full potential of technology for learning.
